The Rockin’ Writer

As some of you already know, I’ve recently joined a new band.  Music has always been one of my greatest passions, so I am very excited to be back in it.  I’ve been in several bands over the years, of most note was Offset.  Our CD, Rehash, sold quite a few copies and we were touring around the New England area with our “Dynamic Power Groove.”  After taking some time off from the music scene to write Train of Consequences, I finally decided that it’s time to get back on the stage and back behind the microphone.

This new band consists of three other guys: Marty Lewis (formerly of Kinetic Theory) on drums, and Jeff Crosby and Ken Camille (both formerly of Under The Gun) on guitar and bass, respectively.  They are just as laid back as I am and are like-minded musically.  During the audition process, we all felt some good vibes.  These guys know their instruments well and I’m psyched to be part of this new project.  We will be doing primarily cover songs, with a focus on the heavy \m/

At this point, we don’t have a name yet.  We’re currently tossing around some very cool ideas, but we want to choose carefully.  We have also selected some great songs to play, including songs from Metallica, Godsmack, Disturbed, Nickelback, Foo Fighters, and Alice In Chains, to name a few.  A few songs are staples of cover bands, but there are many that will surprise people.  We expect to be playing shows by late-spring or so.  Hope to see you all there, rocking out.  I will continue to keep everyone updated on the activities of this band, and of course, Train of Consequences.

I’ve been told that I’m a masochist for trying to juggle a writing career with a music career, but I think it’s going to be quite a ride.  I got this.  I’m The Rockin’ Writer 🙂
